Send us a message

For room bookings, the reservation request form is quickest. For wedding inquiries, please use the wedding inquiry form so Wren has everything she needs. For anything else, write to us here.

We reply within one business day. We'll only use your details to answer your message.

Who you'll be talking to

We're a small house with a small team, and you'll get to know most of us by name.

  • Samuel Teague, head innkeeper, has been at the front desk since 2009. Reservations, room questions, late arrivals, the ghost walk and anything about the history of the house go to Samuel (and, if he's out, to whoever is wearing his reading glasses).
  • Wren Halloway, events director, handles weddings, elopements, rehearsal dinners, showers, retreats and private candle-making sessions. She replies to every inquiry personally, usually within a day, and offers tours of the house Wednesday through Saturday by appointment.
  • The Ledger team, under chef Dee Okafor and Theo Alcott, answers table@ for reservations, private dining in the Library and the Great Hall, dietary questions and the October Séance Supper.
  • Maren and Theo Alcott, the owners, read everything eventually. If something went wrong during your stay, or very right, please tell us; it goes straight to them.

A few things we can't help with by email: we can't confirm a room until we've checked the calendar (please don't assume a request is a booking), we can't take card details by email for your security, and we can't promise a ghost. We've tried.

Finding us

We're on Mercy Lane, a short cobbled lane off the harbor road, about nine minutes on foot from Salem station and a few minutes from the waterfront. Look for the picket fence, the green door and the lantern in the top window. Full directions by train, ferry and car, and details about parking, are on our getting here page.

If you're stopping by to look around, you're very welcome to have a coffee in the Lantern Room or a drink in the Undertaker's Parlor. We ask non-guests not to go upstairs, as guests are sleeping (or, in the Nursery, trying to).
